THE NAME
Nehr (نہر), Bengali and Arabic for canal or river, sets the tone for everything. Like water shaping a landscape over time, soft, fluid, and powerful without force, this idea flows through every silhouette, drape, and texture in the collection.
THE INSPIRATION
Rooted in South Asian heritage and the sacred rituals of womanhood, NEHR draws from the shimmer of wet stone, the stillness of rivers, and the elegance of heirloom dressing. Traditional silhouettes - saris, abayas, salwar sets - are reimagined into contemporary occasion wear, softened by earth and water tones and beautifully fluid fabrics.
THE DESIGN
Every piece begins with hand sketching, before being draped by hand on the mannequin to test how the fabric falls on the body. Nothing is left to chance - seam placement, hidden zips, pearl edging, and clean finishing are all considered before a single sample is cut. The descending marble beading and sculpted draping details are carefully engineered to hold their shape while appearing completely effortless when worn.
THE FABRIC
Fluid satin textures were chosen to reflect light and water movement, feeling sculptural and flattering while remaining lightweight. A detail we're especially proud of: 89% of this collection is made from recycled fabrics.
THE PALETTE
Muted sage and mineral blues - drawn from layered rock formations, mineral surfaces, and the quiet movement of water across stone - form the colour story of NEHR. Grounded, considered, and quietly striking.
